How did I get here? – Peter Kelly

How did I get here?

Peter Kelly geo imployable

Every week we ask one member of the team, how did you get here?

This week we’re asking the big man, Peter Kelly, a few questions so you can all get to know him a little better (We’ll leave whether you’d actually want to get to know him up to you!). Peter Kelly is one of our co-founders and the CEO at imployable. He served as a Royal Marine for 10 years and after leaving the Marines in 2015 found him self highly qualified and unemployable. So read on to find out more about the man himself!

Describe yourself in three words

Passionate, resilient, determined

What is your job role at imployable?

CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer)

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do here, what would it be?

Creating the vision for the future of imployable, selling that vision and developing plans and road maps to execute. Exploring innovative solutions to problems and inspiring everyone to see, believe and action our potential as a company and as individuals.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Royal Marine

What was your first ever job? (or strangest job?)

Pot wash at a pub when I was 13

If you could swap jobs with anyone else in here who would it be?

Kieron, he does #nothing, apart from that no-one, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world than where I am right now

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

Watching our app and everyone in the company develop and start to fulfill their potential, it’s amazing to sit back and take stock of how everyone is learning and growing (including me).

What are you doing if your not at work?

Working mainly, but I enjoy spending time with my kids, watching the mighty Crystal Palace and watching F1 or taking a nice cruise on my motorbike

Last book you read?

Simon Sinek – Find your why

A fact we don’t know about you?

I was named in JustGiving top 5% of fundraisers in 2015 after running the London marathon and planning, preparing and hosting a comedy night with Al Murray in aid of charity.
