National Interview Week
Tuesday 24th March - Friday 27th March 2026

National Interview Week (#NIW) is for secondary school students to have the opportunity to engage in 1-2-1 mock interviews with professionals. This initiative is brought to you by and is proudly powered by Imployable and supported by Equitas technology.

This successful event has been running for many years and fills up quickly.

National Interview Week is all about giving people the confidence and skills to shine at one of life’s biggest milestones – the job interview. Across the week, volunteers from leading employers, career coaches, and educators come together to run mock interviews, share insider tips, and offer personalised feedback. It’s a chance for students, jobseekers, and career changers to practice in a supportive environment, boost their confidence, and walk away interview-ready. Whether students are taking your very first step into work or aiming for the next big opportunity, National Interview Week helps students put their best self forward.

NIW Student Benefits 👇🏽

Taking part in National Interview Week gives students the unique opportunity to experience real-life interview practice in a safe, supportive environment. For many young people, the first time they encounter a formal interview is when applying for college, apprenticeships, or their first job. By participating, students can build confidence, learn how to present themselves professionally, and develop the communication skills that employers consistently say are essential. This early exposure helps reduce anxiety and better prepares them for future success.

The event also creates valuable networking opportunities between students, schools, and local employers. Employers who take part gain a chance to inspire the next generation, spot future talent, and give back to their communities. Students benefit from receiving constructive feedback from real professionals, while schools strengthen their partnerships with businesses, opening doors for future work experience placements, apprenticeships, and career talks.

Most importantly, National Interview Week empowers young people to recognise and articulate their strengths. Whether a student is applying for further education, training, or employment, learning how to tell their story with clarity and confidence is a life skill that extends far beyond a single interview. By embedding this experience within schools nationwide, the initiative ensures that all young people – regardless of background – have access to the tools and practice they need to take their next step with confidence.

For schools, National Interview Week provides a structured and impactful way to meet key elements of career guidance benchmarks, such as the Gatsby Framework. Hosting mock interviews with industry professionals strengthens employer engagement and shows students the direct link between education and the world of work. It also allows schools to demonstrate to Ofsted and parents that they are committed to providing meaningful career preparation opportunities that go beyond the classroom.

National Interview Week is an initiative designed to support over 5,000 young people on our platforms as they engage with career professionals. With more than 15,000 applications each year, the event gives students the chance to explore different career pathways, take part in mock interviews, and gain valuable insight into routes across a wide range of roles and sectors.

The initiative has been hugely successful in previous years, with outstanding feedback from both young people and the organisations involved. Many major employers have already confirmed their return, either through sponsorship or by providing volunteers to deliver interview experiences and share their expertise.

A key benefit for our partners is access to detailed impact reports and survey insights. These reveal why young people are drawn to particular careers, what pathways they intend to take, and the level of interest in different sectors. For industries this information has been invaluable in shaping talent pipelines and workforce planning.

With an anticipated £1 million+ of social value to be delivered through the event, National Interview Week represents a unique opportunity for organisations to give back, inspire the next generation, and play a meaningful role in preparing young people for the world of work.
